Sharecare

Sharecare is a digital solution for patients and their caregivers. We envisioned a new ecosystem that consists of a mobile application and a smart wearable device — eNecklace. We believe it helps to automatise routine tasks, ensure safety, reduce stress and bring families closer together.

Info

My L’école de Design Nantes Atlantique team partnered with Biogen France to create a product to ease life of patients and their caregivers with a special emphasis on multiple sclerosis. We conducted research on motivations, needs, problems pain points, and practices in the daily life of caregivers, consolidated them into key insights, and created personas & mapped their journeys to guide our ideation.

User research

Interview with a head of multiple sclerosis support group in Nantes.

Personal interview with a patient and her caregiver.

Research of relevant papers and literature.

Conducting research and creating a product in the field of medical design was a challenging task for us. We acquired ourselves with a completely new topic in a span of three weeks, identified problem and proposed our solution. Two representatives of BIOGEN supervised our project. They provided our team with insights about the practical application of digital technologies in the medical field.

3 axes

After assessing our findings, we narrowed down our research to three main axes — three possible solutions.

  1. Communication problem between patients and caregivers.
  2. Stress reduction for patients and caregivers.
  3. Medication management for the patients.

User task

As a caregiver I want to save time and automatise my daily duties.
